Post Class Blog 9/5 Courtney Sparling

The readings make sense now! I can kind of sing, "I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes" now! Reading them by myself, I struggled to grasp some really key concepts that were later discussed in class. After seeing all the quotes on the powerpoint and then talking about each one individually, I really started to better understand the meaning and also how I can take the readings slow and dissect them into more reasonable portions so that I'm not being hit with tons of information at once. 

I really liked the example of "A Short Story" because as each slide progressed we were all trying to fill in the gap that existed as we tried to make sense of what was not blatantly obvious. I also liked how everyone was thinking differently trying to piece together the "in between." We all think differently and  for each slide, different ideas were triggered in the process, which I thought was really cool. 

Overall, I felt that this class discussion really helped me to understand not-so-easy topics. I am excited for the next readings to see if I can apply the same techniques to dissecting new passages of information!
